The ulpan exam is the final test at the end of an ulpan course. A sample published on gov.il by the Ministry of Aliyah and Integration (voucher track, level bet, 2019-2020) lasts two hours, with no aids allowed, and has three parts: language (40 points), writing (30 points) and reading comprehension (30 points). elev does not set the exam and does not give its certificate. Its mock exams practice the same skills, plus listening, online and when it suits you.
Some levels run the whole exam against the clock, and free writing tasks have a clock of their own. The card of each level says which.
The recording plays without its text, so you answer the way you will on the day.
In the free writing tasks, you write, then compare your text with a model answer and a checklist. elev does not mark free writing.
Each question comes with its answer and a short explanation.
Some bodies ask for proof of Hebrew, and an ulpan result can be one way to show it. Nefesh B’Nefesh, for example, lists completing ulpan gimel at an approved ulpan, with 70 or more on the final test, as one way for nurses to prove their Hebrew for a license. Rules change and differ by profession: check with the body that asks.
